![]() ![]() Oh, let's just create a Superman without kryptonite weakness. No alter ego is a HUGE fucking part, or let's say handicap, of being the Hulk. woman or whatever, it's just bad character overall. Apart from brute strength, she's clearly better than Bruce in every which way in just a matter of a few days. To be honest, the only MCU show so far that I found the first episode so good that I couldn’t wait to watch the second was Loki. I’ll just watch it long after the season is done and I’m bored one weekend. I’ll probably finish the series, but it’s not going to be appointment viewing. I expected the show to be comedic when it was announced, but I did hope for something not so formulaic in the comedy department. Although, maybe that’s perfect for She-Hulk. The jokes (and their delivery) felt like the ones you’d hear on a TGIF sitcom. Luckily they just kept the fart joke at the one mention. I just knew there was going to be a Hulk or She-Hulk fart scene knocking down a palm tree or something, calling back to when she mentioned holding in farts during the first yoga session. The comedy wasn’t “lowest common denominator humor”, but it wasn’t far from it. It’s just a played out scenario at this point. Only thing missing were the guys wearing biker gang jackets. I’m convinced a bar scene is included in any action film/show just to have bullies harass our protagonist. Everything felt so rushed and some parts were very cliché. The writing and directing just wasn’t very good to me. I’ll get downvoted, but I didn’t find the first episode to be all that appealing, especially the ending. I’ve skipped the last couple MCU shows (Moon Knight & Ms Marvel) because I was fatigued of the same formula after watching Hawkeye, but decided to tune into She-Hulk because I’ve read some of the comics and felt the MCU tone was perfect for her character. It'd be like if they constantly focused on Uhura being a black woman every episode shes in rather than just Another Person amoung many. They're just checking boxes rather than writing a compelling story. But well if that was they case they wouldn't be able to insert several refferences per minute to the comic. I think that Jennifer dealing with low self steem due to the patriarchy and shit, through a couple of chapters and seeing hulk effects on how she's viewed, might have been a much powerful message, less boring, more effective, and also a kinda meaty plot. I think people will be turned off by it just because how overexposed it is. That's cool, but it kinda contrasts how little importance they give to everything, but then we have a feminist 101 monologue. I get that she's made to be an icon to reflect on her. Now I want to talk about the feminist troupes of Jennifer. I just can't take that you have the 6 og avengers characters that the people love and you don't use it. However I think this eposide could easily be way more enjoyable by taking things more seriously, talking more about Hulk problems dealing with his powers and with Stark relationship and what his absence meant. I think I liked the episode because of the relationship with hulk and also Hulk talking about Stark. A sakaar ship out of knowhere, Walters fighting with a random person entering a random trial. First the clock that seems a ben ten toy for being human, the reason why Hulk is healing, that is just because potato. They are already showing a lot of things "for later" without ackowledging them that much. I am already seeing several red flags of the Marvel post Infinity War. It will be part of Phase Four of the MCU.Įven thought it was a fun episode where we get to know more about bruce.
